In October, we were delighted to welcome a Microsoft film crew to our head office! They had traveled from the US specially to interview Sophie Judy, who works as an apprentice in our IT department.

Sophie will be the first person worldwide to successfully complete Microsoft’s Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Trailblazer Apprenticeship. This is a huge achievement and includes the following qualifications:

  • Microsoft Technology Associate qualification in networking fundamentals
  • Microsoft Technology Associate qualification in mobility and device fundamentals
  • Microsoft Technology Associate qualification in cloud fundamentals
  • British Computer Society qualification in business processes
  • British Computer Society qualification in coding and logic

John Slator, our Head of IT and Informatics, commented:

It is really exciting to see Sophie develop and progress at the rate she has. She has quickly gained a very good understanding of IT and her eagerness to learn and progress has also had an impact on other members of the team, who have taken it upon themselves to refresh their current skill set.

She has been involved in a number of key IT projects, such as laptop encryption, and her approach to these has ensured that they have been delivered successfully.

It has also been refreshing to see Sophie so keen to learn more about the organisation’s services beyond IT, and how IT has an impact on their delivery.

We are so proud of Sophie and all she has achieved during her apprenticeship with us so far. Not only has she played a huge role in the growth and development of our IT department, but she has also embraced our organisational values and mission and become a well-respected member of the Concern Group team.

Huge congratulations to Sophie for this international achievement!
