Yesterday, we celebrated the launch of The Anchorage, the latest Safe Haven service in North Tyneside.
The launch event was a brilliant opportunity for us to connect with and thank our incredible team, our NHS colleagues, partners and VCSE organisations involved and now able to access the North Tyneside Safe Haven.
Our three Safe Havens offer compassionate, practical, out-of-hours support for people struggling with their mental health in Northumberland, Newcastle, and most recently – North Tyneside. Whether someone is in mental health crisis or distress, or feels like a supportive chat to get practical local support from a member of our friendly team, we’re here to help; no appointment needed.
Having opened just over two months ago, The Anchorage has seen over 200 people get the support they need, when they need it most. We know that easy to access, local services like these are so important to the communities we serve.
Pasha Tanriverdi, Strategy & Development Director at Everyturn Mental Health, said:
“We’re proud that the Anchorage has already supported so many local people with their mental health in the last two months.
“The most important thing is that people in North Tyneside are getting support when and where they need it. We’re proud to have become part of the Wallsend community and that we’re also helping to ease pressures on NHS services.
“We hope that our continued work with our NHS partners, North Tyneside Council, local emergency services, and voluntary organisations in creating this new Safe Haven will help ensure that nobody struggles alone.”
Yesterday left us feeling incredibly proud to have such passionate colleagues, partners and a welcoming local community in North Tyneside.
