Race Equality Week takes place each year in the UK, bringing together many organisations and people to address the barriers to race equality in the workplace.
Sarah Dewar, our Executive Director of People, Digital and Transformation said:
“At Everyturn, we’re really proud to be working with Business in the Community to create our strategic race equity action plan.
An important first step has been our listening circles with colleagues from ethnic minority backgrounds, providing a safe and confidential space to explore experiences such as workplace culture, line manager support, our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and barriers and challenges to progression.
With a ‘you said, we did’ approach, our action plan will include:
- Commitments from our executive and senior leadership team
- We’ll continue to review processes and practices with inclusion at the core
- Upskilling our managers and empowering them to understand how to inclusively support their team’s wellbeing across the diverse needs of our people
- Pathways to progression which are accessible and transparent, tracking progression and promotion by demographics to make sure any potential bias is identified and addressed, together with positive initiatives such as reciprocal mentoring, sponsorship and continued leadership development programmes.”
