It's Neurodiversity Celebration Week!

Neurodiversity Celebration Week is celebrated worldwide, all with the purpose of challenging the misconceptions that surround neurological differences, and recognising the strengths and talents in the Neurodivergent community.

Neurodiversity refers to the wide variety of ways that people experience and interact with the world. This can be how we socialise, learn, how we pay and hold attention, our moods and other mental functions.

Around 15-20% of the population has a neurological difference, this can include:

  • Autism, or Autism Spectrum Conditions.
  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) or ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
  • Dyscalculia
  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • And many more!

Here at Everyturn, we really value difference. We’re proud to have a number of colleague network groups, one of which is our Neurodiversity Support Group! Over the past couple years, the group have met on a monthly basis to build a mutual support system, and to raise awareness on ways in which we can be more inclusive and equitable as an organisation.

“As an ally, I’ve learnt so much from joining our wonderful neurodiversity support group. Such an inspiring, knowledgeable group of colleagues, who are always happy to share their lived experience.”
