For us, today is about celebrating all of our colleagues who identify as women for the impact they make every single day to the lives of the people we support across our services.

International Women’s Day is also an opportunity for us to stop and take a look, to understand and recognise what improvements still need to be made throughout the UK and the world towards gender equity.

PWC’s Women in Work 2026 survey discovered that the UK has moved up by one place in the rankings, noticing that the ‘The UK’s female labour force participation rate and gender pay gap both improved, but the female unemployment rate rose significantly’.

At Everyturn, we know that for our colleagues to give the best quality care to the people we support, our colleagues need to feel respected, understood and valued.

The Best Workplaces for Women™ list features companies whose employees have affirmed their commitment to inclusivity and equity for all. These organisations have demonstrated a dedication to achieving a balanced representation of women and men throughout the company, breaking down barriers to women’s career progression, and cultivating an environment where every employee, irrespective of gender, can thrive.

How we support our people

We’re constantly striving to improve and make sure that we’re providing our colleagues with all of the support they might need, and opportunities to develop themselves professionally.

Co-created policies

Over the last couple years, we’ve worked with colleagues to co-create policies based on lived experiences, to support during life’s toughest moments. These include a menopause policy, pregnancy loss, gender identity and fertility treatment. We’re incredibly grateful to have been able to create these alongside our colleagues, learning from their lived experience to make sure we’re there for our people.

Career Progression

Opportunities for colleagues to develop themselves further professionally, through our Everyturn Academy, future leaders programme and apprenticeship opportunities. We’re proud that 73% of our leaders are women and that these leaders use their voice to elevate others.

Work/life balance

Our roles are modelled as flexible first and we’re really proud to say that 36% of women at Everyturn work part time or on a flexible working arrangement.

Sarah Dewar, our Director of People, Digital and Transformation said:

“As we move forward, it is important that we continue to focus on ensuring women do not face barriers into employment and with progressing their careers.”

“This means continuing to design our roles as flexible first,  putting in place gender equity and menopause action plans ahead of the legal requirement to do this and importantly, valuing the transferable skills that caring responsibilities bring to the workplace given we know that caring continues to disproportionately impact women.”
