This month, we’re turning our attention to anxiety to raise awareness and provide information about an issue that affects many of us.

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a normal feeling which we all experience from time to time in stressful or challenging situations; for example when taking a test, starting a new job or travelling to somewhere new.

It’s a natural survival response, designed to keep us alert, focused and out of danger.

Anxiety can become a problem if it lasts over a prolonged period of time and begins to impact on our everyday lives.

It is important to remember that anxiety symptoms can be managed and there is lots of support available for those with anxiety disorders.

Throughout July we will be providing resources, information and advice on anxiety – you can find our new e-guide “Coping with Anxiety” in the Employee Portal.
