Get Urgent Help

Our crisis support services are here to listen and guide people through their toughest times. Our compassionate teams help people find a way for people to have the tools to manage their wellbeing and mental health , and connect people with the practical and emotional support they need.

We know that mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Things like housing , finances and relationship problems can have a big impact on our mental health. By looking at the whole picture, we can help people find a way forward.

Tom (name changed for privacy) had been having a really difficult time, feeling stuck in his situation, and at risk of falling through the cracks. This is his story.

Tom was living on the streets. He’d lost his home, his belongings, and he felt completely stuck.

Tom was already receiving support from our Together in a Crisis service, but after his mobile phone broke he wasn’t able to contact us.

Tom visited one of our Safe Havens instead, to get back in touch and find instant support.

When our Safe Haven case worker talked to Tom, it was clear that finding somewhere to live would make the biggest difference to his mental health, so that was their priority.

Our team worked quickly with Tom to create a support plan, focused on linking him up with organisations that could help him find a home.

Our team connected Tom to a couple of organisations that could help him with housing and food, and they also resolved Tom’s immediate problem by giving him a phone, so he could receive ongoing crisis support.

When Tom came to the Safe Haven, he gave his wellbeing a 1 out of 10. By the time he left, he scored it a 9.

Without immediate support to tackle the issues he was facing, Tom could easily have fallen through the cracks.
