Everyturn is proud to be working in partnership with Action Foundation, to provide mental health and wellbeing support for refugees and people seeking asylum in the North East.
Many people moving to a new country have been through challenging experiences and may feel worried, lonely or unsure about the future. This new service will help people get support in a safe and welcoming place, within their new community.
Everyturn’s Community Mental Health teams will deliver wellbeing workshops during existing community drop-in sessions. The workshops will help people to manage stress and anxiety and offer practical ways to help build confidence and emotional wellbeing.
We will also offer one-to-one therapy for up to 30 people, offering people up to six sessions with an accredited therapist. The sessions will be available face to face and online with interpreter support, making it easier for people to get help in a way that works for them, where and when they need support most.
The service will be offered in partnership with Action Foundation, ensuring anyone accessing their support services, will also benefit from being offered these mental health workshops too.
Charlotte Little, Everyturn’s Community Mental Health Support Services Manager commented:
“Partnership support services help make mental health support more accessible, ensuring people can access support where and when they need it most.
“By partnering with trusted organisations like Action Foundation, we can reach people who may face barriers to support, learn from different experiences and develop services that are flexible, inclusive and more accessible so that no one struggles alone.”
