Today, Everyturn Calderdale held a large CPD workshop in York, featuring the eminent Professor Paul Gilbert, OBE. He delivered training to practitioners on using compassion-focused therapy when working with shame and self-criticism.
It was a major coup to have one of the most esteemed professors in the field at our event. We managed to hold the workshop in between Paul’s engagements in Australia and South America.
There were over 130 attendees, including practitioners across Everyturn Mental Health services, as well as those from Wellbeing at Work, Everyturn Mental Health, our affiliates, and external delegates. It was a stimulating day with immensely positive feedback received from attendees.
Paul Gilbert is Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Derby & Head of the Mental Health Research Unit at Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, he has written, taught and researched extensively in the areas of mood disorders and shame.
Paul is a former President of the BABCP. He has published over 150 academic papers and over 20 books. He set up the charity The Compassion Mind Foundation in 2006, and he was awarded an OBE in 2011.
