Get Urgent Help

We’re really proud to share that we’ve achieved Green accreditation with the national environmental accreditation scheme, Investors in the Environment (iiE).

This is a big step for Everyturn, and a reflection of the work we’ve been putting into looking after the planet, alongside the people we support every day.

We know that caring for people goes hand in hand with caring for the environment. As a mental health service working across the country, we know how important it is to make a positive impact.

To reach green status, we’ve shown that we’re continuously improving, looking at how we work, how we use the resources, and how we can reduce our environmental impact across everything we do.

So, what have we been doing?

Environmental governance framework

We’ve put strong foundations in place, including clear environmental policies, a dedicated sustainability team, a network of green champions, and regular oversight at board level.

Long term carbon commitments

We’ve set long-term carbon goals, aiming for net zero in the emissions we control by 2030, and the emissions we influence by 2035, with a plan in place to track and reduce our footprint each year.

Environmental reporting

Behind the scenes, we’re improving how we collect and report environmental data, so we can better understand our impact and where we need to do more.

Travel management

We’re making it easier for colleagues to travel more sustainably too, with initiatives like cycle-to-work and electric car schemes, as well as support for journey planning and car sharing.

Waste management

When it comes to waste, we regularly review what we’re producing and how we manage it, with plans in place to reduce it and improve recycling across all our sites.

Project green space

We’re also proud of our “Project Green Space” work, which brings together colleagues, local communities and residents to improve outdoor spaces, support biodiversity and create places that support wellbeing.

What’s next?

We know we’re not perfect! This is ongoing work, and there’s always more we need to do.

This accreditation has helped us see where we can improve, from strengthening our processes and data, to making sure our waste and travel initiatives are working consistently across every site. We also want to do a better job of showing our progress clearly, especially when it comes to carbon reduction and waste.

We’re focusing on bringing everything together more clearly for senior oversight, while also growing our green champion network to get more colleagues involved and make sustainability part of everyday life across Everyturn.

Achieving Green status is something we’re really proud of, but more importantly, it’s given us a clear path to keep learning, improving and making a positive difference.

“We are incredibly proud to be awarded Green Investors in the Environment, this is the result of an organisation wide effort to improve our environmental management, we welcome the identified areas for improvement and will continue to strive for excellence.

I’m grateful to all of the teams and individuals who have contributed to getting us here”

Alex Slack, Head of Estates and Sustainability at Everyturn.

“Everyturn Mental Health has demonstrated an impressive commitment to embedding sustainability across a complex and growing organisation. Their achievement of iiE Green accreditation reflects strong leadership, mature carbon management, ambitious environmental governance and meaningful colleague engagement.

It is particularly encouraging to see sustainability embedded strategically, operationally and culturally across the organisation, supported by a clear ambition to drive continual environmental improvement alongside positive social impact.”
