Get Urgent Help

On 7 April 2015, Ways to Wellness launched its innovative service to improve the quality of life of people living with long-term conditions living in the west end of Newcastle. Ways to Wellness uses an innovative and pioneering approach to funding through a social investment programme supported by the Big Lottery, the Cabinet Office and social investment funds.

Everyturn Mental Health is one of the organisations providing this service, in partnership with Healthworks, First Contact Clinical, and Changing Lives.

Our team are based at 64 Wingrove Road, close to the four surgeries we will be working with: West Road, Prospect Medical, Ponteland Road, and Fenham Hall Drive.

Meet the team

  • Helene Button has a background in health psychology, with a particular interest in long-term conditions. Her leisure time is spent volunteering with the Air Cadets and hill walking.
  • Louise Cooke has a background in health and fitness, having been a personal trainer and a health trainer working with referrals from GP surgeries. Her hobbies are running half marathons, outdoor swimming, and hill walking.
  • Zena Braithwaite’s background includes working for DWP, Victim Support, and Welfare Rights. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and walking and has recently taken up belly dancing.

The fourth member of the team, Saeema Choudhry, will be taking up her post in May after returning from a period of travel. Saeema has worked in housing projects and initiatives which offer support to victims of domestic violence. We don’t yet know whether she shares the same energetic leisure pursuits as her colleagues!
