We’re getting very excited for the Northumberland Wellbeing Festival, led by our Northumberland Recovery College! It’ll be a fun-filled weekend, showcasing some of the amazing activities that the college provides across the region to support people with their mental well-being.

Northumberland Wellbeing Festival has been organised in partnership with Cramlington Town Council and Open Minds Northumberland. It will take place in Seven Oaks Park in Cramlington on 19-20 August, with lots of activities and events taking place across two days, including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Reiki healing
  • Cycling
  • Fire walking
  • And plenty of other community-focused activities!

The festival will also have live music from local artists and a range of delicious food from local vendors. The full line-up will be released soon on the college’s website.

Northumberland Recovery College provides adults with access to a range of in-person and online activities across Northumberland, encouraging learning experiences to build mutual support and improve wellbeing.

Let’s hear from Claire, Coordinator of Northumberland Recovery College, about what she hopes the festival will achieve:

“We’re excited to be launching the first Northumberland Wellbeing Festival and welcoming people from across the county to sample the variety of services we have on offer.

“Maintaining your wellbeing is so personal, everyone does this so differently. That’s why Northumberland Recovery College offers a varied programme of activities from an array of organisations; whether it’s dancing or fire walking, we recognise that it’s about giving people the right tools to know how to cope when life gets tough.”

The college has seen significant improvements in the wellbeing of the people we support, with 71% of students telling us (in October – December 2022) that they feel more able to deal with their problems in a more manageable way.

Cramlington Town Mayor, Councillor Helen Morris shares her thoughts on the Northumberland Wellbeing Festival:

“Cramlington Town Council are delighted to welcome Northumberland Recovery College to Cramlington. With its central location and good access, Seven Oaks Park is an ideal venue for the Wellbeing Festival.

“The event is a great way to find out about the organisations that support mental health and wellbeing and the valuable work that they do. It also sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun – I’m looking forward to it already!”

We’re really looking forward to all the brilliant activities that will take place over the two days at the festival, we hope to see you there!
