Community support

Co-designed and delivered with local partners, our services support people with a wide range of mental health and wellbeing needs, from mild to moderate difficulties through to severe and enduring mental illness.

Our services are designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs of each local population, recognising that communities experience different challenges and barriers to accessing mental health support. We work with local partners and communities to adapt how and where support is delivered, with a particular focus on improving accessibility, inclusion and representation for minority and marginalised groups. We recruit from within the communities we serve and embed lived experience within our workforce and service development, helping ensure our services are culturally responsive, locally relevant and shaped by the people who use them.

Recovery College Learn more

Our Recovery College provides accessible, recovery-focused learning that helps people build the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to manage their mental health and wellbeing. Our programmes can combine courses and workshops covering areas such as wellbeing and emotional regulation, employment, neurodiversity, physical wellbeing and peer support, with co-production and lived experience embedded within the approach.

A key part of the model is bringing together local community and VCSE partners, connecting people with the wider opportunities and support available in their communities. This strengthens local pathways and enables Recovery Colleges to complement other community mental health provision, helping people build independence, social connection and longer-term recovery.

Community mental health support service Learn more

Our community mental health support service provides accessible, preventative support for people experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties, helping them get support early before their needs escalate. The flexible model combines open-access community drop-ins with structured 1:1 case management and wellbeing groups, giving people different ways to engage depending on their needs. Individual support can focus on personal goals and building the skills, confidence and strategies people need to manage their mental health and wellbeing more independently.

The service is designed around local population need, with accessibility at its heart and strong links into wider community provision. By offering support in community settings and connecting people with local services, groups and resources, the model helps reduce isolation, strengthen resilience and support people to remain well and independent within their communities.

Community & wellbeing waiting list support service Learn more

Our community and wellbeing waiting list support service works alongside NHS secondary care community mental health teams to provide people on waiting lists with 3–6 months of tailored, non-clinical support. Focusing on the social, emotional and practical factors that influence mental health, interventions can include emotional regulation, anxiety management, behavioural activation and support to build resilience, stability and connections within the community.

By providing earlier support while people await clinical treatment, the service helps prevent deterioration, reduce waiting list pressures and free up clinical capacity to focus on people with more complex mental health needs.

Antipsychotics support service Learn more

Our antipsychotics support service works alongside Primary Care Networks and GP practices to identify people who are prescribed antipsychotic medication but are not engaging with routine physical health checks, GP support or wider community services. The service takes a proactive approach to reaching people who may otherwise fall through gaps in provision, particularly where traditional referral routes have not resulted in meaningful engagement.

Our team uses flexible, proactive outreach to build trust and understand the individual barriers preventing someone from accessing support. This can include practical help with appointment planning, reminders and transport, alongside addressing wider social barriers. The aim is to support people to re-engage with physical health checks, primary care and appropriate community services, improving access to preventative support and enabling earlier identification of needs.
