Get Urgent Help

Guided CBT self-help is based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and helps you to focus on your goals.

It is an evidence-based form of therapy for difficulties including:

Depression
Generalised anxiety disorder
Panic disorder
Phobias

As you work through CBT self-help materials, you will learn new techniques to improve how you’re feeling. You will be supported by a trained psychological wellbeing practitioner (PWP).

Sessions are usually up to 30 minutes each week, depending on the type of treatment you are having. At the end of each session, you and your PWP will agree actions and goals for you to complete before your next appointment. These goals will help you to get the most out of the treatment.

This type of therapy can be offered either via webinar, in groups, face-to-face, via video calls, or over the telephone. It offers flexibility for busy lives and for those who may find it difficult to attend longer sessions.

This therapy will help you to understand the CBT approach and has been shown to be an effective treatment for both depression and anxiety disorders.

It may also be the first step in helping you to prepare for further support, if needed.
